We all share our homes with a great number of insects, but not necessarily to our mutual satisfaction. If it comes down to a physical confrontation, the insect usually ends up being swiped up in kitchen paper and tossed into the toilet or bin. Yet this is not a permanent solution, according to the Animal Plagues Knowledge Centre. In order to be able to fight the insects in your home, you will first need to know who’s living under your roof. The top ten includes:
Paper and silverfishes
The paper-and silverfish is the most common insect in homes. The beast will feel particularly at home in damp rooms such as the bathroom but also in the attic.
Stock damagers such as the broad-horned flour beetle, cigarette beetle and larva of the dried fruit moth. Solution: remove food residue and clean the cupboards and / or basement, and place a dispenser with aerosol.
Larvae of this insect life of animal material and sit under more in building material where animal products are processed in (building felt, carpet, insulation material).
This kind of settles into wood that has been affected by fungi.
These insects live especially in cane caps.
Wood boring beetles
Beetles such as the sprint wood beetle, ordinary woodworm beetle and house longhorn beetle. These beetles lay their eggs in wood that is not painted.
The most visible kind. These flies develop in dead organic material. But also Hornets, wasps, moths and fruit flies.
These beetles come literally, often attracted by light.
Are not biting midges that seem somewhat on moths. They enter through open connections to the sewer.
Parasites like, Bugs, Fleas, (Blood) Lice and (tiger)Mosquitoes.
